Setting Up Tracking with GaiaConnect

Written By gaia

Overview

GaiaConnect tracking allows Gaia to track, attribute and optimise. By installing a small tracking snippet, you enable accurate conversion [completed and started applications] reporting, channel attribution and crucially the optimisation of applications vs clicks.

Use this guide when setting up tracking for the first time, adding a new domain, or reinstalling the snippet.

Step-by-step

  1. Click the profile icon in the top-right corner of the platform.

  2. Select Settings from the dropdown menu.

  3. Go to the Tracking tab.

  4. Click Add Tracker.

  5. Enter the domain you want to track.

    • Enter it without www. or https://.

    • This should be the domain used in your campaigns — where candidates will be sent.

  6. Click Create to generate your unique tracking code.

  7. Either:

    • Copy the tracking code and install it into the <head> tag of your site’s common template file, or

    • Enter the email address of the colleague who handles website updates and click Email code to your developer.

  8. Once installed, Gaia will begin tracking performance for that domain.

Tips & Troubleshooting

  • Ensure the snippet is installed in a global header so it loads on all relevant pages.

  • If tracking is not registering, confirm that the domain you entered matches the actual campaign destination exactly (no subdomain mismatch).

  • You can test installation using any browser’s developer tools to check the snippet is present in the <head>.

  • For sites managed by third parties, use the Email code to your developer option.

  • You can view or delete existing trackers at any time in the Tracking tab.
